TIP CONSULTING
Infrastructure & security consulting

Infrastructure that works.

I help teams troubleshoot production systems, handle security incidents, and move infrastructure between on-premises and cloud environments.

Across the systems you depend on.Networks, firewalls, load balancers, virtualisation and Linux—often in the same incident or migration.
01 / Where I help

Senior technical work, scoped around the outcome.

Most engagements begin with a production issue, a security concern or a change that crosses several systems. The work can be a focused assessment or hands-on delivery.

01

Production troubleshooting

Trace difficult faults across network, Linux, database and application layers. Establish what the evidence shows, stabilise the service and address the underlying cause.

02

Networks & traffic

Design and troubleshoot routing, secure links, firewalls and load balancing between sites, providers and clouds—especially where traffic paths and responsibilities are unclear.

03

Infrastructure moves

Plan and execute moves between on-premises, virtualised and cloud environments. Map dependencies, sequence changes, verify the result and prepare rollback and handover.

04

Security & incident response

Investigate suspicious activity, assess exposure and support containment and recovery. Turn findings into practical hardening and remediation, with evidence handled carefully.

05

Linux, DevOps & automation

Improve the operation of critical services through useful monitoring, reliable deployment paths and repeatable automation that removes fragile manual work.

02 / How I work

Start with context.

I look at what is already in place and what you need to achieve. For a migration or new connection, that means dependencies, traffic paths and ownership. For a production fault or security incident, it means logs, configuration and evidence.

We agree on the scope, risks and how to check the outcome. The work may involve design, migration, automation, security improvement or investigation. I can take it on or work alongside your team, then document what changed.

  • Understand the environmentSystems, dependencies, traffic and the people responsible for them.
  • Agree the scopeDecide what to change or investigate, with risks and responsibilities clear.
  • Check and hand overVerify the result and make decisions and remaining work clear.
03 / About

More than two decades of hands-on work across ISP and telecom networks, hosting, Linux and enterprise production systems.

That background spans access and backbone operations, security integration, infrastructure migrations and troubleshooting across networks, systems, databases and applications. TIP Consulting takes on technically demanding projects that need a broad systems view and careful execution. If your problem falls outside the areas above, describe it anyway; adjacent work can be considered when there is a good fit.

04 / Start a conversation

Bring the hard problem.

Send a short outline of the environment, the constraint you are facing, the outcome you want and any important timeline. I’ll respond with whether I can help and a sensible next step.
